Design award winners on display in east China
XIAMEN, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition featuring winners of international design award the Red Dot Award: Design Concept kicked off in the city of Xiamen in eastern China's Fujian Province on Friday.
With the theme of "The Vision of Tomorrow," the exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum Xiamen, the first stop on its global exhibition tour, consists of 265 pieces of works, with the latest design concepts from 48 countries and regions.
Sean Shih, the curator of the Red Dot Design Museum Xiamen, said, by introducing the exhibition, the museum aims to bring the leading global design concepts and prototypes to Xiamen. It also strives to form a platform linking design and related industries via a series of activities including exhibitions and lectures.
Initiated in Germany in 1995, the Red Dot Design Award is one of the world's most prestigious design prizes. The award is offered in three categories: product design, brands & communication design, and design concept, and is given annually.
