Four cruise ships a day will pass 15 scenic spots along the way

Guangyang Island has open the land route to the island since August 22. Now citizens can also land on the island by ship. Not only can they enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Yangtze River, they can also fully experience the unique charm of the “ecological class” on Guangyang Island.

On the morning of September 5, the Chaotianmen - Guangyang Island ecological sightseeing ship route has been opened for trial operation.

The Chaotianmen - Guangyang Island Ecological Sightseeing Ship Route is about 24.5km, passing through 15 sightseeing spots including Jiangbeizui, Chongqing Grand Theater, Danzishi Old Street, Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge, Chongqing Cuntan International Container Terminal, and Tongluo Gorge.

During the trial operation, 4 cruise ships will be operated throughout the day. There are two daily ships from Chaotianmen to Guangyang Island, which depart from Chaotianmen Jiaoyun Fourth Pier at 9:00 and 11:00, and the sailing time is about 80 minutes; from Guangyang Island to Chaotianmen there are two daily ships, respectively. They depart from Dongdaotou Wharf at Guangyang Island at 14:00 and 16:00, and the sailing time is about 120 minutes.

Tourists can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Yangtze River on the cruise ship.

After 12 years, the old staff praised the island full of scenery

After boarding on the first cruise ship, Shen Fakang, 64, kept enjoying the scenery along the river. Before retiring, Shen Fakang worked in Chongqing Passenger Liner Co., Ltd. In the 1970s, when he first entered the unit, he learned how to drive ferry. He followed the ferry routes of Chaotianme - Yuzui and Chaotianmen - Mudong. “All these lines would stop at Guangyang Island.” Shen Fakang still remembered that when there was a farm on the island, people on the island took ferry to Chaotianmen with full load of vegetables. “As a traffic route, it was very popular.”

Many tourists came to experience the first voyage on that day

The first ferry route to Guangyang Island was opened in 1957. It was one of the main means of transportation for staff and residents to go to and fro islands. It was not suspended until 2008.

Twelve years later, the route from Chaotianmen to Guangyang Island was operated again. Wang Yue, Secretary of the Party Committee, Executive Director and General Manager of Guangyang Island Green Development Company, introduced that the opening of this route marked the first time that the “Yangtze River Scenic Eye” of Guangyang Island and the “Historical and Humanistic Scenic Eye” in the core area of the two rivers and four banks of Chongqing have formed a linkage on the water.

River wind touched the face, green trees and green mountains came into view, and the bridge across the river slowly approached... About 80 minutes down the journey, Shen Fakang issued a praise: “The scenery along the river becomes more beautiful!”

The tourists got off the cruise and toured Guangyang Island.

When she boarded on Guangyang Island by cruise ship, the memory of Wei Sufen, 75, was also recalled. Wei Sufen used to work in a farm on the island. In her impression, in the past, Guangyang Island was mainly farmland. Now she saw the green trees, heard the singing of birds and smelt the fragrance of flowers on the island.
