CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, the security situation at Jiangbei International Airport was stable, and the volume of transportation production increased steadily. According to preliminary statistics, Jiangbei International Airport supported a total of 7,647 flights from October 1 to October 8, serving 1.082 million inbound and outbound passengers, an increase of 7.7% and 4.3% respectively.
In terms of specifics, the passenger flow peaked on October 1, and the airport entered the return peak state from October 5. On October 5, Jiangbei International Airport made 937 flights with nearly 138,000 inbound and outbound passengers.
For the purpose of satisfying the needs of passengers travelling and visiting relatives during the holidays, Jiangbei International Airport coordinated with airlines to add new or increase routes from Chongqing to Shenzhen, Nanchang, Quanzhou, Wenzhou and Liping, and launched Boeing 787 and Airbus 330 aircraft on popular routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. From October 1 to October 7, a total of 81 extra chartered flights were arranged mainly to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wenzhou, Lhasa, Kunming, Huizhou and Shanghai.
In terms of ticket sales, the holidays saw the largest number of people travelling from Chongqing to warm seaside cities such as Sanya, Haikou and Xiamen. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in China, Chongqing also attracted a large number of tourists, thus “Chongqing Tour” tourism products were in short supply. With the end of the holidays, the price of flights to and from Chongqing is gradually coming down, and people in need can pay a close attention recently.
