BEIJING, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Coast guard forces in east China's Fujian Province had busted a major case involving suspected smuggling of refined oil, capturing 46 suspects, the China Coast Guard (CCG) said Tuesday.

The CCG said in a statement that the initial probe found the case involved about 10,000 tonnes of refined oil worth about 50 million yuan (7.5 million U.S. dollars).

Two smuggling rings in the case, which used to be active in the coastal areas in the provinces of Fujian and Zhejiang, had been cracked, it said.

At least three oil tankers and four storage tanks were seized and sealed during the investigation, and eight petroleum product companies were found to have implicated in the case.

The statement said further investigation is still underway. Enditem
