CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The “CASIN Cup” 2020 Dazu (Chongqing) Longshui Lake Half Marathon (hereinafter referred to as the Longshui Lake Half Marathon) started last weekend in Dazu Longshui Lake Tourism Resort. There were 4,995 runners running along the scenic Longshui Lake.

Longshui Lake Half Marathon has been held for five consecutive years since 2016 and is a very popular road running in China.

The COVID-19 epidemic has cut the size of this year’s event in half from nearly 10,000 last year. However, according to the organizer, although the number of participants has been reduced in size, the quality of the event has not been compromised. The organizing committee strictly followed the national and local government’s epidemic prevention requirements while building the quality of the event in accordance with the Chinese Athletics Association Gold Race standard.

“Certainly, safety and epidemic prevention is a top priority for this event. All of our participants were required to submit a health code and trip code dated October 23 or 24, as well as a normal body temperature test before receiving their packets to enter the main race area. The organizing committee strictly monitored the body temperature of participants and staff at the main race area, and would initiate the medical emergency plan at any time if there were any abnormalities to ensure that all the players could complete the race safely and smoothly,” the person in charge said.

It is noteworthy that Longshui Lake Half Marathon is certified by the Chinese Athletics Association and is known as “PB” (Personal Best) event by runners. Even though it is a PB event, the organizing committee was still very considerate and has set up a number of warm reminders: “Do not break your Personal Best blindly”; “Do not run too fast in case of blurred images”; “Running is good because it can bring you up close to mountains and the lake”.

Compared with the competition for the first and second place, other participants were quite comfortable, enjoying the scenery of Longshui Lake and the fun of the marathon at the same time. Mo Qian, a participant, said with a smile, “It was a good experience at Longshui Lake. The air is fresh, and I had a smooth run because of the even course. It is worthy of a PB event.
