Most Chinese support teaching of farming culture in schools: survey

BEIJING, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- A total of 98 percent of the respondents in a recent survey support schools carrying out farming culture education, China Youth Daily reported.
Among the 2,003 surveyed, about 77 percent of the respondents think diversity and student participation are important factors of farming culture education, and over 68 percent said they pay more attention to whether the teachers have the expertise and whether the lessons are interesting.
The survey also revealed that 58.4 percent agreed that farming culture education helps students develop qualities of diligence and frugality in life.
Among the respondents, over 87.4 percent are parents of primary and secondary school students, and over 80 percent live in first- and second-tier cities. Enditem
