Photographers gather to capture the beauty of footpath

Citizens are taking photos on the Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) small railway section of Shaci Footpath in Shapingba District.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the special photography group activity of the 2020 Chongqing Mountain City Footpath Photography Competition under the theme “Take a Walk along the Mountain City Footpath to Capture the Beauty” sponsored by the Municipal Housing Urban and Rural Construction Committee, was launched in Yubei. More than 20 well-known photographers and photography enthusiasts from the whole city and even the whole country gathered here as a special group to capture the beautiful moments of mountain city footpaths, so as to feel how the footpath were built while recording their beauty. A number of renovated mountain city footpaths have become popular destination for “check-in”.

As an important part of the photography competition, more than 20 professional photographers and photography enthusiasts were invited to visit the Zaozilanya Section of Greater Southwest Footpath and the Three-story Road Section of Banshanyaxian Footpath in Yuzhong District, the SISU Small Railway Section of Shaci Footpath and the Geleshan Footpath in Shapingba District, as well as the Daihu Section of Jinyun Mountain Footpath and the Zhangfeigu Time-honored Section of Beitang Xiajiang Footpath in Beibei District. Through on-the-spot experience and material collection, they were allowed to appreciate the riverside footpath, street footpath and mountain path from various aspects, presenting the beauty of mountain city footpaths in an all-round way.

More than 500 works to present the unique charm of the footpath

The SISU small railway section of Shaci Footpath is now equipped with public toilets and rest facilities for the leisure and entertainment of visitors.

Since the launch of the Mountain City Footpath Photography Competition at the end of September, it has received positive responses and contributions from well-known photographers and photography enthusiasts all over the country. So far, the competition organizing committee has received a total of 503 photos from 113 contestants.

Many green trees have been planted along the footpath near Zhazidong in Geleshan.

Among the contributions, there are photos about the quiet and chic Geleshan Footpath, time-honored and Chongqing-flavored Huangjueya Old Street Section of Nanshan Footpath, and a comparison between the old and the new in the past and today for Shanchengxiang section of Huanchengqiang Footpath. In their photos, these footpaths that elaborate the landscape characteristics and carry the shared memories of people in Chongqing become vivid and charming, presenting us their own one-of-a-kind glamor.

A small square and an arbor have been built near Zhazidong in Geleshan to provide leisure and entertainment for the public.

Running and playing on the footpath when he was a child, Huang Jin, who has grown up all along the footpath, has a deep affection just like “foliage and root” for the mountain city footpaths. Two years ago, he recorded the initial appearance of many mountain footpath. However, due to the computer malfunction, many old photos were lost, and Huang Jin still had regrets. This year, he participated in the Mountain City Footpath Photography Competition and contributed five groups of high-quality works, such as Century Old Alley Zhangjia Garden Footpath, Eighteen Steps (Shibati) Footpath Witnessing the Development of Chongqing and Magnificent and Treacherous Zengjiayan Footpath.
