XI'AN, China, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- A total of 2,000 marathon runners featured in the 2020 Chang'an Women's Half Marathon here on Sunday.

It is the third time that the female-only half marathon was held in Shaanxi's capital city and for the first time the competition site was moved into the Chang'an Park from open municipal roads in that area.

At Chang'an park in the morning, Zhang Yan was the first runner across the finish line with 1:23:18. Wang Lei and Ni Jie, who ranked second and third, finished the course with a time of 1:31:41 and 1:32:12 each.

This year's Chang'an Women's Half Marathon has consisted of a half marathon and a family run/couple fun run. All the runners are from the local region due to COVID-19 concerns.

The half marathon also set up an online competition from November 9 to 15 for the jogging-goers who were unable to come to participate in the competition.

As one of the "Kiss Run" series marathon tournaments established in 2016, Chang'an Women's Half Marathon was awarded with the Chinese Athletics Association's "silver medal" marathon in 2019. Enditem
