CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- What is the experience of driving from the old town to the park when all you have to do is to drive from the ground floor to the 15th floor? Recently, a parking building in Dadukou District has become a new internet-famous site. The reporter came to check out the 15-storey spiral parking building located next to Yidu Ancient Town in Dadukou District.

“The floor design here differs from the usual floor design of buildings in that it looks like there are only seven floors, but each floor actually has two floors of car parking.” Chen Hongcan, Project Manager of the parking building, told the reporter. “As the top floor is still under construction, the parking spaces available are currently limited to floors 1-14.”

Internal environment of the car park

Upon entering the garage, the reporter found that in order to avoid the safety hazards posed by two-way meeting traffic and to make it easier to pass, vehicle entry and exit in the parking building are in single-cycle mode: the upward and downward lanes are of different colors, with the upward lane being yellow and the downward lane being green. If the wrong direction occurs while driving, it is also possible to change the direction through any floor of the parking garage.

Signage for lifts and toilets in the car park

In the car park, there is a corresponding number plate above each parking space, so one can find the vehicle exactly by memorizing the floor and the number plate. Also for the convenience of the public, there are six straight lifts at both ends of each parking floor. In addition, the parking building offers a very user-friendly design with toilets on each floor, with male toilets on odd-numbered floors and female toilets on even-numbered floors.

The parking building covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters, with 645 parking spaces, and it is currently on a trial basis with free parking. “The parking building not only regulates parking in the area, but also connects Yidu Park at the top and Yidu Ancient Town at the bottom, providing great convenience for tourists,” said Chen Hongcan, Project Manager of the parking building.
