To experience Mountain City Academy of Sciences at Chongqing Science and Technology Museum this weekend

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On November 28 and 29, the annual Mountain City Academy of Sciences will meet the public at Chongqing Science and Technology Museum. Several scientists, artists and writers will be on stage with the children, presenting four science lectures, four science shows and 10 activities on nature and food for the science- and art-loving, curious audience.

Zhang Junping, Professor and Doctoral supervisor at the School of Computer Science, Fudan University, will present the lecture “Does artificial Intelligence Matter in Farming?”, which will demystify the application of artificial intelligence in modern agriculture.

Deng Hanbin, Associate Professor at the Department of Theatre, Film and Television of Hainan University and Deng Hanbin, Vice-Chairman of the Hainan Provincial Dramatists Association, will join the public for a discussion on “Making an Idyllic Song in Art and Technology”, which will explore whether the connection between humans and nature is being degraded or re-invigorated by technological development. 

Yongju Zhao, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Southwest University, will provide an in-depth analysis of “Sheep and Goats”.

Through ''Is It All About Food?”, Zheng Jun, a science fiction writer, will join the public in wondering where food development is heading.

In addition to the exciting keynote speeches, crossover artist Gu Tao, young director Yang Yinbo, drama teacher Zheng Shi, independent artist Zhang Yang, independent dancer Kuai Yuting and drama teacher Wang Wen, who graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Shanghai Theatre Academy, will join 40 little members of the first Shancheng Little Theatre Company in presenting four fantastic science performances, including “I Love Lotus Eggs” and “Pipi’s Dream”, using new media technology, creative stage installations, physical performances and improvised music to create a different kind of food amidst the children’s vibrant creativity and theatrical tension.

In addition, the School of Civil Engineering of Chongqing Jiaotong University and Chongqing Yuzhong Nature Bridge Public Welfare Development Centre will also bring a variety of community activities to the public.

At the same time, the Mountain City Academy of Sciences also recruits science partners from the community to build a popular science ecosystem.

The person in charge of the Chongqing Science and Technology Museum said that he also hoped that Mountain City Academy of Sciences would break the age limit for learning and create a good atmosphere for lifelong learning in society by organizing fun activities for all ages.
