CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Wang’erbao Nature Reserve has been spotted by a first class national protected animal, the forest musk deer; and Bailuwan Ecological Demonstration Base welcomes a large number of egrets and black-headed gulls every year... Why is Chongqing Wanzhou attracting more and more wildlife to its habitat? The answer is that there is a “happy home” for them here.
In recent years, Wanzhou District has taken a series of measures to strengthen daily supervision, carry out special rectification, increase habitat protection and reinforce standardized management and order, so as to create a warm and happy home for wild animals. Up to now, the wildlife resources of Wanzhou District have reached 2,423 species in 430 families, of which 1,610 species in 234 families of terrestrial wildlife, including clouded leopard, forest musk deer, Chinese merganser and other Class I national protected animals.
