CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Shuanglong Lake, located in Shuanglonghu Town in Hechuan District, is an artificial lake completed in 1983, which was turned into a tourist area in 1984 and announced as a Chongqing Municipal Scenic Area in 1992. Shuanglong Lake has a surface of 6,879 mu, a shoreline of more than 80km, four full islands, 67 peninsulas, more than 100 harbors, and a maximum depth of 50m. It holds 40 million cubic meters of water all year round.

The surface of Shuanglong Lake is varied, with its wide areas of colorful landscape and flocks of wild ducks, while its narrow areas are deep and intriguing. The leaves and ripples by boats add a touch of dynamic to the lake.

In recent years, Hechuan District, Chongqing, has strengthened the protection of water resources in the Shuanglong Lake, which has effectively improved the ecological environment. Nowadays, Shuanglong Lake is full of clean water, with boats floating in the sky, people touring in the picture, and poetry and picturesqueness abound. The numerous lake outlets and the surrounding hills surround each other and form a vast natural labyrinth, the surface of which looks like a “mirror of the sky” against the azure sky.
