New address of Chongqing Italy Visa Application Center with visiting service

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the Official Presentation of Chongqing Italy Visa Application Center and Inauguration of the exhibition: “Discovering Italy – a photographic journey throughout the peninsula” was held in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing. In the future, people who need to apply for Italian visas should go to Floor 3, Tower B, Jingxin Center, Liangjiang New District, but it is temporarily closed to accept tourist visas due to COVID-19. 

“International tourism is an important way of exchange and cooperation between countries, and the opening of this new visa center is a door to Italy for everyone,” Davide Castellani, Deputy Consul of Italy in Chongqing said at the Official Presentation of Chongqing Italy Visa Application Center.

Previously located in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, Chongqing Italy Visa Application Center was relocated to Liangjiang New Area on September 17 this year. “With the opening of the new visa center, appointments are available on weekends, and a visiting visa service is also available,” Liu Xingyue, Manager of Chongqing Italy Visa Application Center said.

“This year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and China,” Davide Castellani, Deputy Consul of Italy in Chongqing delivered a speech at the Official Presentation, “In 2019, the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing received a total of 6. 50,000 visa applications. In the future, with more extensive exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, I believe more Chinese people will visit Italy.”

Currently, there are Italy visa centers in more than 10 cities in China. “In Southwest China, only Chongqing Italy Visa Application Center can handle visa procedures at this stage, mainly accepting cases with visa needs for study, work or family reunion. Due to COVID-19, the processing of tourist visas is temporarily closed,” said Liu Xingyue.

After the Presentation, the Exhibition “Discovering Italy – a photographic journey throughout the peninsula” was also opened, featuring 27 photographs of Italy’s most characteristic landscapes taken by photographer Francesco Tobia. (Translated by Wang Huixin, Fathom Language Limited)
