CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- New Year’s holiday tourism has entered its peak booking period in the third week of December. Ctrip data shows that on New Year’s Day of 2021, domestic in-depth travel destinations have seen a 320% rise in popularity. Among them, the New Year’s Eve countdown at Chongqing Jiefangbei, the New Year’s Eve fireworks at Changlong in Zhuhai, the New Year’s Eve cruise at sea in Xisha, the New Year’s Eve hiking in Tibet at an altitude of 3,000 meters, the “first sunshine of 2021” in Fuyuan, the “East Pole of China”, and the splashing of water into ice in Aolu Guya Shilu Tribe at -50°C are all very popular among netizens. Chongqing as a popular destination for a direct train ride to 2021

The rush of New Year’s Day flights will begin on December 31. Beijing users are the main buyers of flight tickets for New Year’s Eve. In Ctrip’s “Top 10 New Year’s Eve Flights 2021”, Beijing to Sanya, Harbin to Beijing and Beijing to Guangzhou rank the top three flights.

Ctrip data suggests that the most popular cities for hotel bookings on New Year’s Day are: Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Changsha, Nanjing, Sanya, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Chongqing, Harbin, Xi’an, Chengdu, Suzhou, Wuhan and Zhangjiakou. Hotel bookings tend to be popular in business districts, but on New Year’s Day there is also a shift from around universities and business districts to around popular scenic spots and around airports/train stations. During New Year’s holiday, prices of high-end hotels in popular cities will rise by an average of 20%. Hotels are the most expensive on the night of New Year’s Eve, with some cities seeing price increases of up to 35% or more.
