CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Last weekend, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Chongqing Pioneer Art Festival was held in National Demonstration Park, Nanbin Road, Nan’an District. Themed by “Rebooting Light and Fulfilling Dreams”, the Film Festival consists of 4 parts, Film Watching, Venture Capital Investment, Forum and Activity Unit. From December 20 to 22, the Festival starts with Tribute to Heroes and the post-film exchange, Meeting with the Makers of Buer Xiongdi (an album), Premiere Sharing Session of the “Pioneering” Young Director Venture Capital Investment Training Camp as well as the Prize-awarding Ceremony.

It is reported that the Pioneer Art Film Festival was set up in 2018 and has been successfully held twice. Zhang Guoli, a National First-class Actor and the Dean of Meishi Film Academy of Chongqing University, is the Director-general of the Festival and a member of its Presidium. Now the Festival has become a distinguished cultural event in Nan’an District and one of the five Municipal Film Festivals in Chongqing.

It is worth mentioning that the Festival has been improved in both the quantity and quality of films. Since the Organizing Committee issued the solicitation for films in July 18, in the following half a year, it has collected over 500 films, including 283 short story films, 29 short experimental films, 110 short documentaries, 36 animations and 15 international films, among which 30 films last more than an hour. In the end, the Showing Group deliberately chose and displayed 18 short and 12 long nominees that had been evaluated by the Judging Panel, 2 films from the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Showing Unit as well as 3 films in 2020 Pioneering Action Venture Capital Investment Plan.
