Nowadays, in the Nanshan Botanical Garden, a large area of wintersweets is standing in the cold wind, showing a splendid blooming scene. People who like it may as well go and watch it.

Wintersweet is a deciduous shrub of wintersweet family. It is also called Lamei （腊梅）since it blooms in the twelfth lunar month (腊月). It is not only a traditional valuable ornamental plant that is a specialty of our country, but also a famous fragrant flower in winter. Approaching the entrance of Nanshan Botanical Garden, there is a distinctive winter jasmine show. All kinds of flowers gather here, competing for splendor, giving people a kind of beautiful enjoyment.

Walking along the stone path towards the plum garden, the first thing that comes into the line of sight is a bunch of red plums dyed in peach-pink color. The intertwined branches, like flower buds dotted with stars, blowing in the wind and smiling, conceal the yellow flowers in nearby, layered on top of each other, surrounded by green forests, and inspire people's expectation and yearning for the wintersweet garden.

Different from the wintersweet flowers people usually buy in the daily life, the flowers in the garden are still decorated with the yellow-green branches and leaves, wrapped in the cold wind and swaying, revealing the sincere beauty of nature. Looking closer, the scaly bright yellow petals appear to be translucent, and the stamens are small and delicate, which arouse the tender love of tourists.

Besides, wintersweet is a kind of flower with strong fragrance. Even before you enter the garden, you can smell the rich and pleasant fragrance.
