Zhongshan Ancient Town

You can also eat along the street, such as glutinous rice cake which is crispy outside and soft inside, sprinkled with fried soya bean flour. So delicious.

Baisha Ancient Town

Located on the bank of the Yangtze River, Baisha Ancient Town has a history of more than one thousand years. Baisha Ancient Town is more special than many other places. Stepping up along the bluestone road, you may see steel beams mottled, fragrant wood and emerald green water.

There is not much commercial atmosphere here, and everything is original. The Ancient Town is next to the river. With a breeze stroking the face, you will feel very comfortable, bringing all troubles away.

The dragon culture here is the most special. During the Spring Festival of every year, residents of the Ancient Town will spontaneously celebrate the festival, send blessings to each other and pray for a good harvest through wonderful folk activities such as dragon dance, phoenix dance and lion dance.

Wutan Ancient Town

With a history of thousands of years, Wutan Ancient Town has a quiet environment and simple folk customs, and still retains its rich folk culture. There are thousands of years of farming culture, ancient “fireworks stand”, drum play and many others as well as couplets, money board, sorghum liquor brewing crafts and other intangible cultural heritages.

Tanghe Ancient Town

Tanghe Ancient Town is surrounded by water on three sides, with the graceful temperament of Jiangnan water town. You can play in the water by bamboo raft, feel the blue sea and sky, and admire the wonderful scenery of lakes and mountains.

Tanghe Ancient Town has profound cultural deposits, including the best-preserved hakka ancestral temple of Chongqing, excellent modern architecture of Chongqing, and Tingchong Temple and Shilongmen Manor under the municipal cultural relic protection. It also has the famous Taoist holy land in Chongqing, Sichuan and Guizhou - Qingyuan Palace; and Hongyan carve groups integrating the most dangerous collection of ancient plank roads and ancient grottoes in Chongqing.

The streets here are arranged in twists and turns, with the characteristics of Bayu mountain dwellings; and the sense of history is engraved in the ancient buildings. There are other intangible cultural heritages such as Tanghe wedding custom, monkey climbing pole and blowing lanterns on the Tanghe River, all of which show the unique folk customs here.
