CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On January 18, the 8th Red Cherry Voluntary Initiative of “Knitting Love in Winter” visited Fengdu Dudu Central School for a donation to send winter love to the children in the mountains.

At the donation ceremony, the Propaganda Department of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Chongqing Civilization Office donated hand warmers, books and school bags to the children, which also contained stationery, ropes skipping, loving fabrics and chilblain cream; the Propaganda Department of Jiangbei District Party Committee donated outdoor jackets to keep the children warm; volunteers from the Red Cherry Volunteer Association brought beautiful scarves, gloves and hats; staff from Andover Ocean Park sent lovely doll toys; employees from Qianye Optical Chain Corporation not only brought the children warm materials but also conducted vision screening and gave glasses worth more than 50,000 yuan to the students with myopia; staff of Baiya Sanitary Products not only sent vacuum cups to the children of Dudu Central School, but also donated 500 boxes of sanitary products to Fengdu Rural School to help rural girls grow up healthily.

The beautiful scarves, gloves and hats ...... deliver love and bring hope. Li Yuanyuan from Class 1 in Grade 6 of Dudu Central School said on behalf of the recipient students, “The only way to show our respect to you is to study diligently, develop good habits and pay tribute to you with excellent academic results and a grateful heart!”

It is learned that since Red Cherry Voluntary Initiative of “Knitting Love in Winter” was launched in 2013, more than 300,000 people have hand-knitted many pieces of practical clothing and hats, more than 100 enterprises brought a batch of school bags, stationery, toys and daily necessities, solving the needs of the children in the mountains with considerate care.
