CRT Loop Line opens to the public and provides more convenience for you

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On January 20, the southwest section of Chongqing Rail Transit Loop Line (Erlang – Chongqingxi Railway Station - Chongqing Library) has been officially put into operation, and the Rail Transit Loop Line was fully connected. On the first day of operation, many citizens changed their travel choices. Taking rail transit is not only environment-friendly but also more convenient. Connect three railway passenger stations, and provide more “shortcut” options 

On January 20, the Rail Transit Loop Line as fully connected and Chongqingxi Railway Station was officially integrated into the rail transit network. Citizens can get to Chongqingxi Railway Station to take train by transferring to Loop Line, and they can walk about 3 minutes to the Railway Station Entrance after leaving Loop Line. In addition, the Loop Line also connects Chongqingbei Railway Station and Shapingba Railway Station, shortening the distance between citizens and railway passenger stations to only “a section of rail”, providing citizens with a variety of passenger stations to choose, and making it more convenient for people to go out in the city.

The congestion on Line 1, Line 3 and Line 6 during peak hours is expected to ease to a certain extent after the Loop Line is fully connected. The number of rail travel options for citizens has increased considerably. It is expected that the frequent congestion during peak hours will be alleviated on the lines from Gaomiaocun Station to Xiaoshizi Station of Line 1, Tangjiayuanzi Station to Gongmao Station of Line 3, and Huahuiyuan Station to Wulidian Station of Line 6.

It is understood that at the beginning of the service of the Loop Line, it has been favored by many office workers, especially those living in Shapingba District and Nan’an District. “In the past, it took more than an hour to drive to work, and I had to go out in advance to avoid the morning rush hour. Since the operation of CRT Loop Line, I not only went out late, but also did not have to be stuck on the road.” Mr Zhang who lives at Haixia Road and works at Guangdianyuan is the one benefiting from CRT Loop Line.

According to the analysis by Chongqing Transportation Planning and Research Institute, the tidal phenomenon was more obvious at the initial stage of the Loop Line operation, the morning rush of the Loop Line passenger flow was mainly from south to north (the passenger flow to north was about 1.8 times of that to south), and the evening peak passenger flow was mainly from north to south (the passenger flow to south was about 1.6 times of that to north).This means that the service of the Loop Line provides a significant improvement and convenience for the residents at Shapingba, Jiulongpo and Nan’an Districts.

In addition, the operation of Line 5 (Shiqiaopu to Tiaodeng) was accompanied by the complete connection of the Loop Line, which also brings Huayan and Tiaodeng areas into the rail transit network.
