CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- With rail transit trains passing by and riverside scenery, from next month, a new must-go place will be opened to citizens and tourists. On January 21, according to the reporter of Chongqing Daily, after careful “decoration”, Hutouyan - Fotuguan section, the first section of the main line of Banshanyaxian Footpath, will be completed and opened to the public before the Spring Festival in 2021. In addition, Huaxi Footpath, Chonggang Footpath, Panxi River Footpath and others are expected to be completed within this year.

Among mountains, there are green scenes, slow breeze and winding steps. Banshanyaxian Footpath brings a wonderful experience of “different views at different steps”, connecting five parks including Liziba Anti-Japanese War Relic Park, Eling Park, Fotuguan Park, Hutouyan Park and Pingdingshan Cultural Park, and about 30 cultural resource sites. It is a good place for citizens and tourists to visit the origin of ancient Chongqing and the view of Yuzhong District.

Banshanyaxian Footpath is about 28km in total, of which the main line is 9.1km long and the branch line is 19.9km long. The construction covers optimizing the existing footpath, connecting the broken footpath, docking to the rail and bus stations, activating the peripheral functions of the footpath, improving the signs and supporting service facilities along the footpath. It not only connects with the surrounding Jingwei Avenue and Jiabin Road, but also connects with 5 rail lines and 28 bus stops, which will improve the travel environment for about 300,000 persons of the surrounding communities.

Up to now, Hutouyan - Fotuguan section, and “three-layer” road section and Yuzhong District section of the branch, have been basically completed. In 2021, the Footpath will focus on the construction of Hutouyan - Pingdingshan section, the upgrading of Liziba - Fotuguan section and Pingdingshan section. After the complete completion of the Footpath, there will have a riverside walking route for citizens and tourists to enjoy the three-dimensional urban landscape and cultural characteristics of Chongqing.
