China's Yunnan allocates funds for epidemic control, industry support

KUNMING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Yunnan Province allocated 12.62 billion yuan (about 1.95 billion U.S. dollars) for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, local authorities said Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Yunnan also earmarked 6 billion yuan to support industries, including culture and tourism, hotel and catering, transportation, and agricultural products processing, which were hit hard by the epidemic, Yang Kun, an official with the provincial department of finance, told a press briefing.
Yang added that the province also issued guidelines on the management of funds to support stable production and supply of epidemic prevention and control materials and daily necessities. Enditem
