CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, a unique “light” military training of City College of Science and Technology, Chongqing University made the students and teachers on the scene exclaim, “Cool! It's so cool!”

According to Zeng Peiyuan, Director of Armed Forces Department of City College of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, this light show is in fact an extension of the sign language squad. During this year’s military training, the College designed and rehearsed the “China” characters, the Great Wall and love-shape with the training instructors, taking into account the themes of the fight against COVID-19. “The students took their mobile phones with them and rehearsed at night with their mobile phone lights on in order to show the effect of the squad, which was surprisingly good with the lights,” Zeng Peiyuan said.

It is worth mentioning that this squad is also the largest ever in the history of the military training of City College of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, with more than 2,600 students.

“There are other universities across the country that perform light shows during military training, only the theme varies from university to university. We continued to optimize our formations and patterns during rehearsals, and the overall effect was even better at the official military training debriefing show.” The light show was also a good patriotic education for teachers and students, said Zeng.

Yang Mei, studying in the Environmental Design in Grade 2020, City College of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, also as part of the light show squad, said that the light show was very stunning to her. “In the context of the times, it is also meaningful for us students to be able to pass on our blessings in this way,” she said.
