CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, more than 300 green plum trees are in full bloom in the isolated green belt of Liujia Wharf section of Beibin Road in Jiangbei District. The green calyxes and white flowers are like snowflakes in spring, dressing up Beibin Road beautifully and attracting many people to stop and watch.

Green plum is so named because of its green calyx, white flowers and green twigs. Many people know the green plum from the TV series Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace, in which the heroine Ruyi’s favorite flower is the green plum.

Not often seen in the greenery of the city streets of central Chongqing, these green plums took root in Jiangbei in 2018. In addition to Beibin Road, green plums are planted at Jiahong Avenue and the intersection of Jinyuan Road in Jiangbei District, as well as at Jiangbei District Government Square.
