Danzishi Old Street

Wang Family Courtyard

Wang Family Courtyard has a history of one hundred years. It used to be a famous house in the south of the Yangtze River in Chongqing, and “the First One in the Western Waterway”; and it was the courtyard of a wealthy and influential family before.

The reconstructed Wang Family Courtyard is huge, with both internal and external stages and often provides art performances for free. It’s a matter of luck if you can see these performances.

Yide Hall Christian Church

It is the reconstruction of a century-old church, with holy and elegant exterior, and retro and noble interior. 

The colored glasses inside the church shining in the sun outdoor are bright and amazing!

Viewing Platform

The Viewing Platform of Danzishi Old Street is one of the best places on Nanbin Road to enjoy the night view. Danzishi Old Street is located on the hill, so this place has a great view.

Raffles, Grand Theatre, Qiansimen Bridge, Dongshuimen Bridge, the intersection of the two rivers... You can take in everything in a glance. During the day, you can see the intersection of the two rivers at Chaotianmen Wharf. At night, you can see the beautiful night scenery of Chongqing. It is so beautiful.

Yidu Ancient Town Lantern Show

It was already started in October 2020! Authentic lantern crafts from Zigong, Sichuan Province, integrate Chongqing landmarks and characteristic folk culture, and row upon row of colorful lantern belts, making the whole Ancient Town look bright and colorful.

Near the entrance of Yidu Ancient Town, the colorful “Memory of Mountainous City” light set comes into sight. The running-water-like lighting will take you through the time tunnel in minutes and step into the colorful Yidu. Entering the Ancient Town, you will be attracted by the 130-meter-long “Oriental Dragon” light set which is winding and extraordinary.

In addition, there are many interactive light sets. Both children and adults can step on the “piano” which can make melody, play on a “cloud-like swing” which can change color, and use the "elephant" belly-shaped slide... It’s full of fun.

Huangjueya Old Street

In addition to Danzishi at Nan’an District, there is another old street named as Huangjueya Old Street. Different from Danzishi and Ciqikou, Huangjueya Old Street is a quiet old street hidden in Nanshan Mountain.

Like the usual ancient streets, Huangjueya Old Street also has green-slate roads, and wooden old houses with white walls and black tiles. The night scene of Huangjueya Old Street is very beautiful. The warm yellow lights shine on the streets, making the simple houses look more “calm” and show a little vitality brought by the lights.

With the red lanterns hanging in every family, it’s a great place for taking photos! It is even like being in the scene of “Spirited Away”.

Shancheng Lane

Shancheng Lane in Yuzhong District is decorated with colorful lanterns, adding a strong charm to the old street in the night.

Different from other places, it is next to People’s Court of Yuzhong District, and it is famous due to the unique climbing scenery on the ridge. After the transformation, its original features have not been lost, and it has been added rows of lanterns, making it full of charm at night.
