CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 23:11 on February 7, train C6003 from Chengdudong to Chongqingbei arrived at the station, and passengers got off and left the station in an orderly way. At this time, a clear voice from Compartment 13 that “mom, mom, give you my painting.” A young girl ran up to a train attendant and handed her a painting, followed by a man who offered her flowers and gifts. They shared a long hug on the platform.
This scene is that a Fault Detection Worker Gao Wei with his daughter Gao Yawen went to the platform to pick up his wife Liu Dongmei. In that evening, the family had a simple and happy reunion dinner together in the cabin of Chongqing Section. Liu Dongmei is a conductor of Chongqing Section. During the day, she serves passengers on train; and at night, Gao Wei checks the rails on the line to ensure the safety of trains. Because of their work, they spend less than 40 days a year together. Since they started working, they have been unable to be with their families for 12 consecutive Chinese New Year’s Eve.
Gao Wei sends the first message each day at 05:00 after work. “Honey, I’m safely off duty.” These words are extremely precious for Liu Dongmei. In the evening, she also sends a message saying “Honey, I’m back.” This sentence also makes him rest assured before he goes to work.
On this year’s Chinese New Year’s Eve, Gao Wei and Liu Dongmei stuck to their respective posts for the warm and comfortable service environment and the safe operation of trains. Passengers arriving safely is their New Year’s wish. Gao Wei said that although they had few reunions, but they had mutual understanding, and that was the most beautiful thing.
