CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, as the weather has warmed up, new buds have come out, and here comes the prime period for harvesting the spring tea. In Wanzhou District, Chongqing, the majority of tea farmers are hurrying up to make the first batch of spring tea this year.
At Juyuanchuanxiu Tea Co., Ltd.’s production base, the reporter saw that villagers are busy picking the first crop of new buds in spring. In the tea garden, more than 30 villagers together carrying bamboo basket, three or two lines, with their fingers flying up and down joyfully between the new buds, put pieces of bright green fragrant tea into the bamboo basket behind.

The villagers would carry the picked tea leaves to the processing workshop for weighing, and then the workers there would proceed with the processes of spreading and cooling, withering, fragrance extraction, and so on, all of which were carried out in an orderly manner.
Xinxiang Town, with a high topography in the east and a low one in the west, ranging from 175 meters to more than 1400 meters above sea level, is an ideal area in the Three Gorges reservoir area to grow high-quality tea leaves. The tea produced here is of good quality and rich in aroma, and is therefore favored by tea dealers as well as consumers. (Translated by Wang Junli, Fathom Language Limited)
