CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At Central Station of Tuanjie Village, the zero-kilometer starting point of China-Europe Railway Express (Chongqing - Duisburg), police officer Lei Ji from Police Affairs Section silently guards the safety of the railway and the train. In fourteen years, he has covered 22,000 kilometers of the line, which is equivalent to walking the China-Europe Railway Express (Chongqing - Duisburg) on foot.

During the Spring Festival, police officer Lei Ji, as usual, put on his mask early in the morning and began a busy day’s work. As a police officer stationed at the Central Station of Tuanjie Village, since the construction of the Central Station in 2007, Lei Ji has had the honorable and difficult task of inspecting the railway yard. He has also been one of the guardians of the starting point of this international railway artery since the launch of China-Europe Railway Express.

During this Chinese New Year, China-Europe Railway Express was still in full swing, transporting goods from China and the whole of East Asia to the world - on New Year’s Eve alone, 715 trucks were registered in and out of the Central Station of Tuanjie Village, with 5 trains and 236 trucks China-Europe Railway Express being received and dispatched. During this time, Lei Ji conducted daily safety checks on the trucks and drivers entering and leaving the yard.

At present, Lei Ji has covered a total of 22,000 kilometers, which is exactly one round trip on China-Europe Railway Express. Nowadays, although more convenient inspection methods such as drone inspection and video inspection have been used by the police, Lei Ji still insists on taking one step at a time, inspecting every key point of the starting point of China-Europe Railway Express in place and guarding the safety of this international railway artery together with his colleagues.
