Wushu Routine Competition of Chongqing Sixth Games kicks off

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter recently learned from the organizing committee of Chongqing Sixth Games that the Wushu Routine Competition of Chongqing Sixth Games officially kicked off in Yongchuan Gymnasium, attended by the contestants from 29 districts and counties.

The organizing committee said that according to the competition arrangement, the Wushu Routine Competition will be held in Yongchuan Gymnasium on March 9 - 12. There are 29 teams from Yongchuan District, Wanzhou District, Qianjiang District, Yuzhong District, nearly 200 participants in total.

According to the relevant person in charge of the organizing committee, the Wushu Routine Competition is divided into four groups, which are young men’s and women’s group A, and young men’s and women’s group B, covering 40 minor events such as long boxing, southern style boxing and Tai Chi. Among which, the junior group A events (except the traditional events) are the third set of international Wushu competition routine; and long boxing and southern style boxing (apart from traditional events) are the first set of international Wushu competition routine.

The person in charge also said that “Wushu routines are a series of movements combined with the meaning of attack and defense. They are a whole set of practice forms based on the material of attack and attack movements and the changing rules of contradictory movements such as attack and defense, rapid, rigid and soft, weak and real movement. It is a unique sport with high appreciation value and fitness value in China. The competition will be implemented in accordance with the 2012 "Wushu Routine Competition Rules and Judges Law" approved by Chinese Wushu Association and other supplementary provisions.
