CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The grass is long and the birds are flying, so it’s a good time for a spring outing. Recently, Shima Town, Dazu District, Chongqing, launched the Waking of Insects Rural Tour in terms of the 24 solar terms, with the launch of “Mushroom Picking in the Forest” in Shimen Village. The activity has been running for more than a week, attracting many Dazu residents to come up to the mountain every day to pick fresh mushrooms and experience the traditional farming fun.

The “Mushroom Picking in the Forest” is held on a hillside in Shimen Village, close to Jinshan Road and Yuejin Reservoir, where 20mu of mushrooms are planted in the forest in early spring, with a growth period of about one month earlier than wild mushrooms. The mushroom variety is Chisongrong, which is harvested for over a month.

The mushroom farming base is operated jointly by Shimen village Collective and a local agricultural enterprise. Through the careful cultivation of experts organized by the joint venture partner, Chongqing Foot Rhyme Mushroom Agriculture Co. Ltd., the hillside is full of plump, strong Chisongrong with dew drops that look very appealing every day.

These days, many Dazu residents choose to come to Shimen Village to pick Chisongrong at a price of 30 yuan per kilogram when they go on their spring tour to the base. Breathing in the fresh air of the mountain, people carry small baskets and enjoy the scent of flowers while picking Chisongrong, revisiting the dream of the countryside.
