CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter learned that Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will commence its flight schedules for the 2021 summer season from March 28. According to statistics, after the season change, airlines will put in a total of 6,798 domestic flights per week, up 10.54% from last year, making it one of the top ten airports in China.

Against the backdrop of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, Jiangbei Airport Company has actively promoted airlines to adjust their capacity arrangements, optimize the route network structure, stimulate the vitality of the domestic market and respond positively to the requirements of the new development pattern of a major domestic cycle and a dual domestic and international cycle to promote each other. In the summer season of 2021, Jiangbei Airport will add 24 new domestic destinations, including Ankang, Anqing, Anshun, Dandong, Daocheng, Erdos, Hanzhong, Jining, Kangding, Kaili, Liping, Pu’er, Tongliao, Tongren, Weihai, Weifang, Wuyishan, Xingyi, Yining, Yichang, Yongzhou, Yulin and Zunyi, reaching the highest number of domestic destinations compared to the previous summer seasons, and significantly improving the airport’s accessibility, with a total of 148 waypoints and 192 departure routes.

Jiangbei Airport will also increase the number of flights to the main domestic routes, with Beijing (including the Capital Airport and Daxing Capital Airport) increasing to 39 flights per day, Shanghai (including Hongqiao Airport and Pudong Airport) to 40 flights per day, Guangzhou to 25 flights per day and Shenzhen to 25 flights per day. Besides route increase, airlines will also increase the investment of wide-body aircraft on main routes. This summer season, wide-body aircraft will operate 45 flights per day, accounting for nearly 10% of the overall capacity, with peak wide-body flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen reaching 9, 12, 8 and 7 flights/day. In addition to first-tier cities, new wide-body capacity will be added to Lhasa, Haikou, Hangzhou, Changsha, Tianjin and Zhengzhou to provide passengers with a more comfortable flying experience.

It is worth mentioning that Jiangbei Airport will continue to provide quality services to transit passengers this year. Overnight transit passengers can apply for free accommodation in the “Chongqingfei” Mini Program for individuals, while those in groups can enjoy the free “Chongqingfei Mountain City Tour” product, which combines urban tourism and accommodation.
