Tennis Qualification Trial for World University Games starts

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the 31st Tennis Qualification Trial for World University Summer Games was opened at the Tennis Hall of Southwest University. A total of 42 players from 16 colleges and universities participated in.

It is reported that this Qualification Trial was organized by Federation of University Sports of China, co-organized by Tennis Branch of the Federation of University Sports of China, and undertaken by Southwest University. There were 3 events, including men’s singles, women’s singles and women’s doubles.

The reporter noticed that in this entry list, Guo Hanyu from Southwest University and Ye Qiuyu from Beijing Sport University, who won the women’s doubles and team doubles champions of Naples 2019 World University Games (short for Naples Games), Xu Shuai from Southwest University, Wu Hao from Nanchang University, who won the third places in men’s doubles and other outstanding athletes were all listed.

Guo Hanyu, a contestant of Southwest University, was the champion of women’s doubles and group doubles in the tennis event of Naples 2019 World University Games. She said: “Many masters from colleges and universities come to participate in the competition, and we can have the opportunity to exercise and improve ourselves. I think that the high-level competition in Chongqing also has a good impact on the development of local tennis.”

In addition, this Qualification Trial will end on April 9. According to the competition rules, athletes who won the top eight men’s singles, top six women’s singles and first place in doubles in this Qualification Trial would be selected for China University Tennis Training Team of Chengdu 2021 World University Games.
