Online taxi platform launches barrier-free travel services for the visually impaired

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- This reporter learned that recently the online taxi platform DiDi signed a strategic framework agreement with the China Association of the Blind, which will continue to launch barrier-free travel services to further facilitate travel for the visually impaired.

According to the introduction, DiDi launched the “barrier-free car” before, and continue to optimize the APP information accessibility features, visually impaired people can take online taxi by voice calling.

At present, DiDi has launched the “barrier-free travel service”, firstly for guide dog users, to help passengers with certified guide dogs to find a car without being refused, and complete their travels smoothly. So far, the service has covered 74 cities, including Chongqing.

In order to ensure that users with guide dogs can take rides smoothly nationwide, DiDi has cooperated with many guide dog bases across the country. Priority orders are also dispatched for these users, and drivers are reminded to provide necessary assistance to passengers with guide dogs and visually impaired passengers through voice announcements and text messages.

Up to now, more than 1.8 million DiDi drivers have completed the “barrier-free service” certification.
