CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing Daily reporter recently learned from Liangjiang New Area that a city with hundreds of parks would be built in the area by adhering to the people-oriented principle. 119 parks had been built and 12 new parks would be built before the end of the year, and a high-quality living demonstration area integrating industry, city and landscape would be created.

According to reports, in recent years, designers of Liangjiang New Area have made full use of the unique mountains and water to plan and construct a large number of distinctive parks, such as Yuelai Riverside Park, Jinhaiwan Riverside Park, Jiuqu River Wetland Park, Garden Expo, and Zhaomu Mountain Forest Park.

Located between Jinzhou Avenue and Pingxiang Road in Liangjiang New Area, Jinzhou Park covers an area of about 650 mu. Its location was originally an abandoned slag yard, which absorbes a large amount of urban construction spoil. Now that the site has been transformed, and the original shallow hills, wetlands, woods, countryside, grassland and other ecological elements have been restored.

At present, the park covers an area of 90,000 square meters. More than 10,000 trees of about 60 varieties, and shrubs and ground covers of nearly 100 varieties have been planted. Ten major hills such as Humanistic Hill, Water Shadow Hill, and Sports Hill have been built, and each hill is a theme activity space. In accordance with the sponge city concept of “seepage, storage, stagnation, purification, use, and drainage”, Jinzhou Park was built through the “full sponge” elements of shallow hill terrain, ecological wetlands, and permeable paving, realizing the effect of “no wet shoes in light rain and no water accumulation in heavy rain”.

In addition, the world’s largest maze of approximately 100,000 square meters would also be created in Jinyu Country Park on Jinzhou Avenue of Liangjiang New Area by making use of the high-pressure corridor. With the goal of being intelligent, all-aged, and contextual, designers of Maze Scenic Spot had planned five themed Mazes, including Fancy Challenge Maze, Children Maze, Animal Hedge Maze, LOVE Theme Maze and Experiential 4D Maze, which will become the most distinctive and shocking outdoor mazes in China after completion.

According to the person in charge of Liangjiang New Area, 2021 is the “Year of Urban Construction Improvement” and “Year of Urban Renewal” in Liangjiang New Area, urban improvement actions will be vigorously implemented to accelerate the promotion of road renovation, landscape upgrading, and the transformation of old communities and resettlement housing communities, improve facilities such as flood control and drainage, disaster prevention and earthquake mitigation, so as to build a sponge and resilient city, and strive to create a high-quality living demonstration area.
