BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Domestic heartwarming film "Sister" continued its dominance of the Chinese mainland box office chart Thursday with daily earnings of about 5.79 million yuan (around 892,100 U.S. dollars), data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed Friday.

Turning the spotlight on sibling relationship, the film tells the story of a teenage girl who finds herself caught up in a dilemma between the pursuit of personal growth and the obligation of rasing her younger brother after their parents died in a car crash.

It has pocketed over 800 million yuan since its debut on April 2.

Japanese animation film "Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet" ranked second, generating about 5.21 million yuan in box office revenue on Thursday.

It was followed by the re-released U.S. fantasy film "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," which raked in 4.17 million yuan on Thursday. Enditem
