CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Painting on the parking space is now quietly popular in Chongqing, the artist will custom-made patterns with special pigments painted on the parking lot, so that each ordinary parking lot becomes full of personality.

Wei Yuanmeng, a senior majoring in Finance at Chongqing Jiaotong University, is the founder of a culture and art company. At the beginning of January this year, Wei Yuanmeng’s team began to get involved in parking lot painting. In more than three months, it has won the favor of many car owners, and now it can receive more than 20 orders every month.

Winnie the Pooh, Pikachu, Doraemon... All kinds of cartoon patterns made the original boring parking space, become beautiful and interesting.

Most of the customers of the painted parking lots are young people, who have higher requirements for life quality, and even private cars have to pursue individuality. Among the orders placed by the Weiyuan Dream team, animation cartoons or personalized graffiti were the main ones. With the help of color painting, these customized parking lots immediately stood out from many parking lots.

Different from ordinary painting, parking lot painting needs to undergo the rolling of cars and strong cleaning of the ground, which requires high pigment requirements. Wei and her team put a lot of effort into this, using homemade pigments to ensure both bright colors and resistance to friction. With the paint “close contact” of the hands, as if a work of art.

Since it is painting, there is a risk of falling off. In order to make the color painting on the parking space preserved for a long time, the painter will brush the parking lot again before the formal painting, in order to waterproof anti-moisture. After the pigment layer is dry, the second complementary color palette is carried out. Finally, a protective coating is applied to prevent paint removal.

To ensure that the design is accurate, the artist will make a draft with chalk first, and then paint the whole design after drawing it. Wei Yuanmeng introduced that drawing a common pattern of parking lot can be completed in one day. If the customer custom-made pattern is more complex, it will take 2-3 days.

Although the parking space painting audience is generally young, but there are exceptions. Mr Zhang, a man in his 40s who lives in Kowloon Slope, customized a set of cotton patterns on his parking space after seeing it painted on social media platforms.

The pattern has a blue sky and white clouds as a background. A white, chubby cotton is lifelike, as if the next second cotton will swing with the wind.

Parking lots are public places. Painting on private spaces is not acceptable to everyone. The owner of the custom cotton pattern has been blocked by the property. It’s not convenient to manage on the ground. After negotiation, the property said that as long as it does not affect the use of other parking lots, they would not intervene.

In order to avoid such unnecessary conflicts, Wei Yuanmeng will first confirm the property information with customers every time. In addition, before each painting, the edge of the parking lot will be protected by adhesive tape, so as not to affect other parking lots.

“Painting is something I have always wanted to do.” Wei Yuanmeng turned this hobby into a career, but also let their dreams take root in a small parking loot. “It’s a new thing. It’s a new industry.
