According to breeder Xu Zhengkun, the male chimpanzee named Yu Hui, is 20 years old. In 2019, the breeder discovered that Yu Hui liked washing clothes. At that time, Yu Hui was so excited as long as it saw the breeder washing clothes and wiping glass. Later, breeders put clothes, soap and brushes next to a pool in the outdoor venue, and wanted to test Yu Hui’s reaction; unexpectedly, Yu Hui went straight to the pool and washed the clothes without hesitation.

“It washed for half an hour, and didn’t stop although it ran out of the water in the small pool,” Xu Zhengkun described the scene at that time. He said that Yu Hui “had seen the world” and participated in piano and rope skipping competitions when it was young, so it was better at learning and imitating than other chimpanzees. “It not only likes washing clothes, but also likes reading books and newspapers!” Xu Zhengkun said.
