CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In early summer, the river breeze is intoxicating, with perfect sunshine and gentle water waves. Nanpingba, located in Maliuzui Town, Banan District, is lush and green as far as one can see.

On May 9, a reporter of Chongqing Morning Post learned that at the Nanpingba, many people drove their cars to camp here to enjoy the bright sunshine. On the grassland, whether adults or children, are having a good time. Between the blue river and blue sky came a burst of laughter from time to time.

Due to the periodic rise and fall of the water level, the land near the riverside of Nanpingba is submerged during the water storage period and exposed to the ground during the drainage period, which, in the long run, forms a section of the subsidence zone area into a large grassland. It is very much similar to the Hulunbuir grassland, just like the poetry goes, “The wind blows the grass low to see the cattle and sheep”.

At present, Nanpingba is in the dry season, so people now can see the whole grassland. From a distance, a large area of thick grass, and the green mountains and water behind blend into one, just like a paradise. It is also known by netizens as Chongqing’s “Little Hulunbeier Grassland”. In addition to the camping base, the island also has beach bikes, delta-wing flying machines and other amusement facilities.
