Zhangjiaxi Ecological Park

Unique shape of larkspur

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Are there any destinations to enjoy flowers after the Beginning of Summer? Yes! Chongqing Evening News reporter recently learned that at the Zhangjiaxi Ecological Park of Yuelai International Expo Town in the Liangjiang New Area, a group of nearly 4,000 square meters of larkspur is blooming like a sea of pink flowers that is brilliant and dreamy like a sunset.

Larkspur is also known as annual delphinium. The flowers are mostly white and slightly pink like the peach blossom, with translucent petals that are as thin as cicada wings. The flower shape is very much like a bird flying with the wing stretched, and the flowers in a row are like thousands of pink birds.

Larkspur has a long flowering period, from late spring to late summer. We can walk in Zhangjiaxi Ecological Park, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, smell the fragrance of flowers to embrace the nature.

Zhangjiaxi Ecological Park is located in the south of Chongqing International Expo Center, with a planned land area of 58 hectares and a total linear distance of about 2.2 kilometers. With the terrain mainly dominated by valleys and hills, the stream meanders through the valleys and jungles, making it a rare ecological stream valley in the city. The park area is planted with more than 40 kinds of trees and 60 kinds of shrubs and perennial herbs. In addition to larkspur flower sea, a peach forest covering an area of nearly 40,000 square meters has been planted, which is another beautiful sight in spring when it is blooming.

In the future, Zhangjiaxi Ecological Park will further improve the park’s supporting facilities, upgrade its landscape, enrich the types of leisure activities for residents, and provide them with unique experiences by focusing on five major sections: sports and leisure, children’s entertainment, art world, outdoor exploration, and eco-stream recreation.
