According to the news on the Internet, “The No.1 Great Fall in Asia”, Wanzhou Great Fall is pouring straight down with the sound of thunder, which makes people think of the poetry of Li Bai, “It was the Milky Way falling into the human world”.

A tourist is using his cell phone to record the spectacular scene, behind him on the trail is also full of tourists taking pictures with the great fall ... In the “May Day” holiday just ended, there are countless netizens visiting there to take pictures.

However, the Wanzhou Great Fall that goes viral among the most searched hashtags on Weibo was once unrecognized. Zhao Xinli, the person in charge of the Wanzhou Great Falls, told reporters that in 2000, a development company found and took over the purely natural waterfall, but it has not been very popular, and by 2008, the annual number of visitors was only 50,000 or 60,000. With the opening of the railroad and highway to Wanzhou in recent years, the Waterfall also witnessed a growth of tourists. According to reports, throughout last year, Wanzhou Great Falls received a total of more than 500,000 visitors.

Zhao Xinli said, in fact, the title of “The No.1 Great Fall in Asia” has not yet been certified by the authority, but the “great” of Wanzhou Great Fall, and its “strange” and “wonderful”, these three characteristics are also enough to make visitors feel its majestic momentum.

“Great” lies in its 9739.5 square meters of waterfall area. In fact, when it comes to waterfalls, most Chongqing citizens may think of Huangguoshu Waterfall. Wanzhou Great Falls is not as high as Huangguoshu Falls, as the former is 64.5 meters, the latter is 77.8 meters, but Wanzhou Great Falls are 50 meters wider than the width of Huangguoshu Waterfall, namely 151 meters.

The “strange” lies in the cave under the waterfall, more than 7,000 square meters of “water-curtain cave” provides a large space for the imagination. When walking through this stone cave, tourists can experience the majestic momentum of the waterfall up close, and naturally, they can understand why Wanzhou Great Fall is called “The No.1 Great Fall in Asia” by many netizens.

“Wonderful” is its unique “dry period”, the upstream of Wanzhou Great Falls is a huge reservoir with 36 million cubic meters of water storage called Ganning. It is abundant in water, so there is no dry period, and the spectacular scene of the Great Fall can be seen all year long.

The person in charge of the scenic area said that they will, on the one hand, launch different activities on each major holiday, and on the other hand, when the market has fully recovered, they will apply for the title of National 5A Tourist Attraction.

Nanchuan District: Longyan Waterfall

The vertical drop of Longyan Waterfall is nearly 300 meters, and it is a hanging waterfall.
