CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- This year’s May 12 marks the 13th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day. The reporter learned from the Chongqing Fire and Rescue Headquarters, up to now, the Chongqing Fire and Rescue Headquarters has built more than 40 fire theme parks, more than 100 fire science education bases and publicity points in the Chongqing, with fire safety games, fire theme experience, fire department visits and other activities to popularize fire safety tips to the public.

It is learned that up to now more than 40 fire theme parks have been built one after another in Chongqing. Through building fire theme parks, fire science bases, mobile fire theme vehicles and other multi-platform, immersive fire experience education sites, Chongqing Fire and Rescue Headquarters has effectively enhanced the quality of fire safety for the public.

Located in Liangjiang New Area, Yunzhu Sports and Culture Park is the first park jointly built by Chongqing Fire Rescue Headquarters and Longfor Group with the theme of “firefighting, earthquake and disaster prevention”. At the entrance of the park, there is a foam fire truck which has been fighting on the front line of fire fighting in Chongqing for nearly 20 years; along the walkway of the park, there are yellow, orange and red fire warning slogans and fire prevention tips; in the core area of the park, there is an interactive fire safety science propaganda zone and an interactive experience area for children to save themselves from fire, including smoke creeping evacuation pipeline, dry powder fire extinguisher operation, overcoming obstacles and other real-life experiences. There are also firefighting turn-around for practical tips, “fire knot” rope climbing area, so that children can learn about firefighting while playing.

The special duty squadron of the Shapingba Fire Brigade in the Daxuecheng of Huxi Sub-district has set up an exclusive firefighting experience center for children to experience what it’s like to be a firefighter! With the simulated fire alarm sounding, the little firefighters quickly “answered the alarm”, put on their firefighting equipment and rushed to the “fire truck” to the simulated fire. By being in the simulated fire scene, using fire extinguishers to quickly extinguish the fire and so on, children can experience the various steps of firefighters from receiving the alarm to extinguishing the fire.
