CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter learned from Chongqing Transportation Development & Investment (Railway) Group that the second phase of CRT Line 10, represented by Zengjiayan Station, is under construction with great efforts. Recently, the first section of steel box girder of Zengjiayan Station, weighing 30.55 tons and 7.24 meters long, has been successfully lifted, marking the official start of assembling the station interchange platform.

The second phase of CRT Line 10 will be connected with the first phase of CRT Line 10 at Liyuchi Station, and will cross the Jialing River and Yangtze River via Zengjiayan Bridge and Nanjimen Bridge to the south, ending at Lanhua Road Station in Nan’an District. The total length is 9.86 kilometers with 8 stations. When it is completed, it will be connected with CRT Line 10 to form another north-south corridor after CRT Line 3, further relieving the traffic pressure between Nan’an, Jiangbei and Yuzhong and providing convenience for the public to travel.

The Zengjiayan Station of the second phase of CRT Line 10 is an elevated side-platform station, located on the north side of Jiabin Road in Yuzhong District, sharing a station hall with the existing Zengjiayan Station of CRT Line 2, with a height difference of 15 meters between the two platforms. The Zengjiayan Station of CRT Line 10 is 150 meters long and 27.4 meters wide, with 5 entrances and 3 security exits and a construction area of about 13,220 square meters in total.

The station construction project is divided into three parts: platform, interchange platform and station hall renovation, of which platform and Zengjiayan road-rail dual-use bridge are built as one, and the main structure has been completed; The interchange platform is a two-story large-span steel frame structure platform weighing about 2,000 tons, supported on the piers of Zengjiayan road-rail dual-use bridge and the piers on both sides of Jiabin Road, which is currently being assembled. After the second phase of Zengjiayan Station of CRT Line 10 is put into operation, passengers traveling from Yuzhong District to Jiangbei District and Nan’an District will only need 3 minutes to realize the interchange between CRT Line 2 and Line 10 via escalators there, effectively reducing the cross-river time and improving travel efficiency.

The Zengjiayan Station of CRT Line 10 is the first of its kind in China as an integrated interchange station on the bridge. It is worth mentioning that the station interchange platform adopts glass railings with a unique appearance, resembling a “hall in the sky” with excellent view.
