In “Lobster Land”, the audience will travel between eight different scenes of the lobster world and experience the life of “lobster inhabitants” in a pop-up lobster universe composed of paintings, sculptures, videos and art installations. While viewing “Lobster Land”, the audience transforms from being a spectator of the artwork in the usual sense to a companion of the “lobster”, the main character in the artist’s work. The audience can not only learn the history of Lobster Land in the Lobster Museum, but also experience the different thrill of shopping in the lobster world in the Lobster Supermarket, and find the hidden plot of the exhibition in the Lobster Factory. In this form, Philip Colbert turns the traditional art exhibition into a Pop Art paradise shared by the artist and the audience, bringing the audience closer to the art and creating an immersive viewing experience.
