CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- “The general public should not travel outside the city unless it is necessary, especially not to the key areas and medium to high risk zones of the epidemic and the cities where they are located.” At a recent press conference (84th) on the prevention and control of COVID-19 in Chongqing, Qi Li, deputy director and associate chief physician of the Institute of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of Chongqing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, made the above reminder.

Qi Li said that people with a history of travel in Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province from July 17 to 27, in Fenghuang County, Hunan Province from July 23 to 27 and in Tongren Airport, Guizhou Province from July 24 to 27 this year should take the initiative to report to their employers, local communities or village committees, implement 14-day self-health management and cooperate with the management staff for nucleic acid testing and stay at home till the testing results are available, provided that they have done their personal protection.

She advises that during the summer holidays, the general public should not travel outside the city unless it is necessary, especially not to the key areas and medium to high risk zones of the epidemic and the cities where they are located. The public should develop the concept that “everyone is responsible for their own health” and raise their awareness of self-protection. And they should adhere to good personal hygiene practices such as scientific mask wearing, frequent hand washing, frequent ventilation and maintaining a social distance of 1 meter or more.
