Thanks for these people working in hot summer of Mountain City

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- So hot! The highest temperatures in many districts and counties of Chongqing are over 40 °C. The reporter captured many moving moments in the heat.

On the front line of the fight against COVID-19, the staff in charge of disinfection were fully armed at Financial Plaza in Dadukou District. They said that their clothes were all soaked through.

The lady in the dress injured her finger and the paramedics diagnosed her. At the end she thanked, “It’s hot, so please protect yourselves from the heat!”

Zhang Kun, a police officer of Yuzhong Public Security Branch, finished his duty in the morning rush. His throat was “burning like smoke” and he poured down a bottle of mineral water in one gulp.

Sweat soaked through the clothes on their backs is a daily routine for almost every police officer on duty. They are used to the fact that their uniforms are wet repeatedly.

To prevent heat stroke, the police station prepared medicine and watermelons for the police. After a short break, they would be back on duty in the hot sun.

The hot weather couldn’t delay the training. Firefighters from Yinglong Station of Nan’an Fire and Rescue Branch set off again against the scorching sun.

“Have a slice of watermelon before lunch,” the canteen staff greeted the firefighters. The fire station also offered chrysanthemum tea and Huoxiang Zhengqi Liquid.

In Longshan Sub-district, Yubei District, sanitation worker Ma Xiuying was working under the scorching sun, and her sweat drenched her hair under her pink sun hat.

Ma Xiuying works eight hours a day, so her employer prepared Ren Dan and Huoxiang Zhengqi Liquid for her. “Protect yourself from the heat! Protect yourself from the heat!” Her employer repeatedly stressed.

Workers appeared to be busy as track laying was underway on Chongqing Rail Transit Line 4, with a tight schedule and heavy workload.

It was a cheerful and lively moment on the site when the workers were given items to cool them down. They happily received watermelons to protect them from the heat.

The outdoor workers’ lounge in the flight area of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport was officially opened, giving the apron staff an additional “home”.

The lounge is equipped with a fridge, microwave and water dispenser, and the staff were happy to take a cool break here. (Translated by Wang Huixin, Fathom Language Limited)
