CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On the evening of August 4, the reporter saw at the entrance of the East Ring Road, Guanyinqiao, Jiangbei District, a large sign posted on the window of a fruit shop that read: Sanitation workers can eat watermelon for free. The reporter learned about the situation from a sanitation worker who was cleaning up the garbage.

The sanitation worker was Yang Mingrong, who was responsible for the cleaning of this section of the East Ring Road. He knew that the fruit shop provided watermelons for sanitation workers for free for about one week. He has been eating watermelons every day for about a week.

“When I went to the fruit shop to eat watermelon, they were very warm to me, and asked me to notify other sanitation workers to eat for free. They also told me to tell the supervisor to call more sanitation workers to eat.” While talking about this, Yang Mingrong praised that the fruit shop was good to sanitation workers.

When the reporter walked into the fruit shop, Zhao Kailan, the waiter, told the reporter that the shop provided free watermelon for sanitation workers for about a week. The main store in Jiefangbei was the first to be implemented. “It’s hot now, and it’s really hard for sanitation workers to clean the environment,” said Zhao Kailan.
