CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Chongqing Urban Administration Bureau, through sound facilities and improved capacity, the garbage classification and disposal system in Chongqing is becoming more and more complete. So far, a total of 59 domestic waste treatment facilities have been built and put into operation in the city.

Chongqing has started the construction of seven waste incineration plants in Tongliang, Wulong, Xiushan, Qijiang, Qianjiang, Hechuan and Dianjiang, and four food waste plants in Fuling, Tongnan, Zhongxian and Dianjiang this year.

Up to now, a total of 59 domestic waste treatment facilities have been built and put into operation in the city. With a classification and disposal capacity of 29,000 tonnes/day and a harmless domestic waste treatment rate of 100%, the central city has achieved full incineration and zero landfill of primary domestic waste. In terms of classification and transportation of domestic waste, the city has reached more than 3,800 classification and transportation vehicles, including more than 1,800 vehicles in the central city, and all domestic waste that meets the classification standards has been classified and transported.

Many communities have also installed intelligent delivery devices to make it easier for people to drop their domestic waste. Recently, an intelligent waste classification and delivery device was installed in the Fenghuangshan community, Ciqikou Sub-district, led by Ciqikou Sub-district and assisted by Zuoan Company.

Residents can simply scan the scanning area with their point card or mobile app. After a beep, the bin opens automatically. Residents drop their classified and packed garbage in and immediately earn points. The intelligent garbage classification device in the community uses face recognition technology to facilitate residents to drop their waste at any time and record their points to reduce their littering behavior. Residents can exchange their points for household supplies, which directly encourages them to be more active in waste classification and increases their participation and awareness of it.
