CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Smart China Expo 2021 kicked off on August 23. Chongqing Rail Transit Group has recently released news that International Expo Center Station on Chongqing Rail Transit International Expo Line has established a comprehensive operation and management platform for comprehensive sensing, ubiquitous interconnection and collaborative operation of people, equipment and environment on the basis of the existing comprehensive monitoring system. Expanding functions from three aspects: smart service, smart operation and smart operation and maintenance, it allows the station to realize 21 scenario applications such as integrated information display, one-touch station opening and closing, scene linkage, integrated signage, energy control, video analysis, environmental monitoring and smart security check to help the station operate safely, orderly, rationally and efficiently.

Smart service: Operational information a one’s fingertips

It is introduced that the station has improved the passenger guidance information system, and LED displays have been set up above Entrances 1 and 4 to show the arrival timing of trains on the station’s two-way lines in real time, so that passengers can be informed of train arrival information outside the station.

The integrated information displays at Entrances 1 and 4 and in the station hall near the four passageways help passengers to self-search the three-dimensional modelling of the station, information about the toilet, the rail network map, a diagram of the neighborhood around the station, information on public transport, and information on the details around the entrances and exits. In this way, passengers are no longer “confused” when entering or leaving the station and are no longer “in a hurry” when getting on the train.

Smart operation: Better passenger flow organization

Based on a dedicated 5G network, the intelligent integrated operation and management platform of the station links various professional equipment, allowing real-time monitoring of passenger flow and the collection of data monitored by the automatic ticketing system and security check data. The station duty officers can use the real-time data on passenger flow to develop the corresponding passenger flow organization plan.

Meanwhile, the intelligent video analysis system installed in the station can identify the distribution of passengers. When a passenger falls on the escalator and passes in the opposite direction, the system will automatically send the image to the integrated transport management platform to remind the staff to deal with the situation in time. The terahertz security detectors used by the station automatically can capture the weak terahertz signal emitted by the human body as passengers enter the station and create a high contrast real-time image that automatically marks the location of the threat. Passengers enter the station without stopping and are screened as they pass.

The use of the XM1000 security detector is more than capable of meeting the detection of larger items, i.e., about one-meter-wide and one-meter-high, during conferences or exhibitions, and is able to automatically identify and alarm the contraband hidden in the detected items, effectively improving the efficiency of security checks.

At present, International Expo Center Station, the first intelligent rail transit demonstration station in Chongqing, has been put into operation, and the sub-functional scenarios of Yuelai Station, Chongqing West Railway Station and Fengmingshan Intelligent Station have also been put into use and well received by the majority of passengers. In the future, Chongqing Rail Transit Group will also further accelerate the pace of intelligent urban rail transit construction, fully dovetail with the new round of technology and industrial revolution, and build a satisfactory urban rail transit for the people.
