CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Chongqing Housing and Urban Rural Construction Commission, 66 public car parks and a total of about 30,000 parking spaces are planned to be built in main urban districts of Chongqing this year to further alleviate the problem of parking difficulties, including 46 renewal projects and about 18,000 parking spaces; 20 new car parks and about 12,000 parking spaces are planned.

At the end of June, when Ciqikou Backstreet Project was officially opened, nearly 1,100 public parking spaces have also been opened for the public, alleviating the problem of difficult parking in Ciqikou area. According to the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Housing and Urban Rural Construction Commission, so far this year, 11 of the 66 public parking projects advanced in Chongqing have been completed, adding about 5,000 parking spaces.

In recent years, Chongqing Housing and Urban Rural Construction Commission has accelerated the implementation of public parking construction projects in tandem with urban renewal and the transformation of old neighborhoods by rolling out annual construction plans for public car parks to alleviate acute parking conflicts in the districts; at the same time, it has led the urban development pattern with rail transit, focused on the development of parking industrialization, and made efforts to promote “P+R” park-and-ride to reasonably guide green travel and meet parking demand.
