A place in Chongqing where you can feel like you’re in Forbidden City

2021-09-06 14:35:51

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The red bricks and gray tiles, together with the lush trees next to it, resemble a corner of the Forbidden City. The ancient red walls may remind you of the Forbidden City in Beijing. For those who have not yet been to the Forbidden City, you can choose to come here to take photos in “Forbidden City style” and feel the charm of the red bricks and gray tiles.

When you first arrive at the place, you will be struck by the long, narrow alleyway with red walls and gray tiles stretching a hundred meters ahead and the ground covered with ancient square bricks.

You can view the antique lamp up close, hanging from the wall in a natural way, just to the right at the end of the entrance. Around here, another red wall comes into view. This wall, unlike the one just above, has only a single side. From here, you can see the Jiahua Bridge across the Jialing River, providing a great view of the river in the distance.

Further in, you will see three three-dimensional sculptures made of bird cages, each with three small birds, bringing a touch of life to the entire red wall, as if symbolizing the freedom and vitality that can be found under the high walls. The bricks under the bird cages are covered in moss, and the impact of the green and red adds to the sense of antiquity of the place.

As the red wall is located in a residential area, many elderly people take a rest here in the early morning, blowing in the wind, listening to the music and amusing the birds in their cages, which is very comfortable. From 9:00 a.m. onwards, the area becomes more and more crowded. Everywhere you see older women in brightly colored costumes, coming in groups to record videos and take photos. If you want to come here to take pictures, do it before it’s too crowded!

Address: Exit 5 of Daping Station on Rail Transit Line 2, around 239 Jiukengzi Road, Yuzhong District (Hongye Wudaodui via GPS)

The open area is free to view 24/7. Be sure to come early if you want to take great photos! (Translated by Wang Huixin, Fathom Language Limited)
