Two dark green minibuses on the roadside in Liangjiang Coordination Zone attracted a lot of attention. It turns out that this is the first 5G autonomous driving minibus fleet in China, created by Chongqing Mobile in conjunction with QCRAFT, CiDi and Tencent, for mountainous urban transportation scenarios.

On the 5G vehicle-road coordination demonstration section, the reporter boarded the minibus and saw an electronic screen showing the minibus’s trajectory, speed, stops, as well as the surrounding cars and buildings, and from time to time, there were warning announcements such as “tunnel ahead” and “no standing water on the road”.

According to the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Branch of China Mobile, the minibus has already implemented 5G over-the-horizon roadside information sharing and long-distance pushing of traffic light information via 5G. In September this year, a special route will be opened in Liangjiang Coordination Zone for tourists to experience.

It is learned that unlike low-speed minibuses that are operated on closed roads or parks, the driverless minibus can be operated on urban open roads at speeds of 20 to 50km/h and can be used in scenarios such as special metro feeder lines, micro-circulation buses, park commuter shuttles and scenic spot sightseeing tours.

Helping to diagnose COVID-19 and fight against the pandemic

At the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, the Medical Intelligent Imaging Cloud Platform, supported by Chongqing Branch of China Telecom, has provided important support for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.

It is introduced that by deploying intelligent solutions for lung diseases in the cloud through Medical Intelligent Imaging Cloud, complemented by AI diagnostic capabilities, radiologist in the Southwest and across the country can speed up treatment and save up to 50% in review time.

Since its implementation on the ground in January 2020, the Platform has performed more than 150,000 lung screenings. Specialists can also use computers, PADs and mobile phones to enable remote consultations at any time and from any location, realizing rapid adaptation to emergency medical care.

According to Li Xin, Healthcare BG Director of Chongqing Branch of China Telecom, by empowering smart healthcare with 5G, it will be possible to register and consult online, allowing patients to receive medical advice, treatment and prescriptions without having to leave home.

“5G New Vision” is a new promotion and application platform jointly launched by Chongqing Branch of China Mobile and Chongqing Hualong Newsnet Group Co., Ltd. The product modality is such that while the target user is dialing out and waiting to be connected, the screen will play the specified video in half or full screen.

At present, over 10 million users (users of Chongqing Mobile with Android) have this feature enabled. The product was trialed in 29 districts and counties during the Chinese New Year 2021 (16 days), with a cumulative placement of 43.23 million times and a total of 65.37 million plays, reaching 4.05 million users.

In the future, CQNEWS and Chongqing Branch of China Mobile will constantly advance the promotion and application of the product in Chongqing, such as external publicity of districts and counties, promotion of key activities, policy notification and emergency publication; and CQNEWS and Chongqing Branch of China Mobile will also launch new pattern in the field of government affairs, so that daily key headline news will be pushed to the audience.
